JoJo premiered her brand-new single “Disaster” this morning on 93.3 FLZ in Tampa Bay, Florida. Thankfully we live in the 21st century which means a fellow JoJo fan ripped it from the radio.

You may not have heard of Big K.R.I.T. before this post, but I’m sure this won’t be the last time you do.

I had heard of this Mississippi-based rapper/producer before, but never really heard his music, until Angel (you know her as the HBIC over at ConcreteLoop) posted the audio for “The Vent” (off K.R.I.T.’s Return of 4Eva mixtape) on her own blog, AngelOnFire.

Now, the official video for “The Vent” has dropped, and gives me the perfect opportunity to post about how dope K.R.I.T. is. Not only does he (obviously) write all his music, but he produces it, as well. I’m noticing a trend of up & coming rappers also producing (J. Cole is another artist who also produces that I’ve had my eye, and ears, on for a while). Watch “The Vent” now below.

Jill Scott hit the road earlier this summer on a national tour (bringing along Anthony Hamilton and Mint Condition with her) in support of her latest album, The Light of The Sun. I got a chance to attend the New York stop out in Jones Beach last month and it was a pretty impressive show. Jill looked and sounded incredible, and it was a treat to see Anthony Hamilton (one of my favorite voices in music) do his thing live on stage, too.

At the recent Philly stop on the tour, Jill’s hometown, they recorded her performance of “So Gone” to serve as a music video for her latest single. Check it out below.

While Jill Scott‘s next official single off her latest album The Light of The Sun is the track “So Gone” (featuring Paul Wall), that hasn’t stopped the always-impressive artist from releasing a new video for the introspective track “Hear My Call,” off the same album.

In the video, which is free right now on iTunes until Monday, 8/29, Jill keeps it minimal, but isn’t afraid to get emotional. Watch the moving visual for “Hear My Call” below.

JoJo‘s been making the rounds with her fan-fav cover of Drake’s “Marvin’s Room” as of late. For all you JoJo fans, earlier this month the singer/songwriter performed at the She’s The First Girls Who Rock benefit concert.

Among some of her biggest hits, JoJo premiered a brand-new song, “Jumping Trains,” the title track to her upcoming album of the same name, out later this year.

I’ve been bumping Jill Scott‘s new single, “So In Love,” featuring Anthony Hamilton, for the past month. It’s the perfect song to usher in the warm Spring-into-Summer weather, and the just-released video gives you that same good feeling.

Jill’s new album, The Light of The Sun, drops June 21st – Now, that’s a week before Bey’s album, so there are no excuses not to support good music, haha!
