Million Dolla Baby

Robin Thicke calls on Jazmine Sullivan for “Million Dolla Baby”, off his upcoming album, ‘Sex Therapy‘ – in stores Dec. 15th. These are two of my favorites and truth be told I’ve been waiting on this track since I saw the ‘Sex Therapy‘ tracklisting a few weeks ago.
That being said, I’m a bit disappointed Jazmine is only featured on background vocals on the hook – I was expecting an actual duet. Despite this let-down, the song has a jazzy and almost Marvin Gaye feel to it – and I’m diggin’ that about it. I had the chance to catch Robin and Jazmine perform in Brooklyn this past summer, you can watch videos from the show here and here.

Listen to “Million Dolla Baby” after the break!

Watch Robin Thicke’s steamy new video for “Sex Therapy”. This song has been getting plenty burn on my iPhone and I was wondering when the accompanying visuals would premiere. DAMN – is that Robin’s real-life wife, actress Paula Patton, in the video?! She looks amazing! Be sure to cop Robin Thicke’s new album, also titled ‘Sex Therapy‘, in stores Dec. 15th.

Yet another impromtu and touching tribute to Michael Jackson; R&B singer-songwriter Robin Thicke sings a brief acapella version of MJ’s hit “Human Nature”, off Jackson’s ‘Thriller‘ album. The DJ begins playing the Jackson version and the entire crowd, including Thicke on the mic, sing along. I still can NOT believe Michael Jackson is not here with us anymore. So sad.

Something Else

For your listening pleasure; two new tracks leaked from smooth operator Robin Thicke’s upcoming album, ‘Something Else’ (in stores Sept. 30th) – I was obsessed with his last album, 2007’s ‘The Evolution of Robin Thicke’ – which garnered him the Soul Train award for Best Male R&B/Soul album. Hopefully he can work his magic again.

Robin Thicke – “You’re My Baby”

Over a bossa-nova infused sound of percussion and the light strumming of a guitar Thicke sings the praises of his ‘baby’ (wife Paula Patton). I’m really feeling this track - although it does have moments where it sounds safely similary to his breakout hit, ‘Lost Without You’ from 2006

Robin Thicke – “Cry No More”

I like this stripped down acoustic feel – it suits his smooth, soft vocal approach.
